Enjoy your Chocolate Dipped Biscotti with some chai tea made from scratch...you will never drink store-bought chai tea again! Traditional chai is made by combing fresh spices with black tea. The result is a fragrant, spice-forward cup that is perfect for fall.
Ingredients for 3 cups
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 8 green cardamom pods, crushed
  • 1 tsp whole black peppercorns, crushed
  • 4 cloves, crushed
  • 3 allspice berries
  • 1 star anise
  • 1/8 tsp Nutmeg, freshly grated
  • 2-3 dried rosebuds, food-grade (optional)
  • 2 ½ cups water
  • 1 in knob of fresh ginger, sliced
  • 3 Tbsp loose leaf black tea (or 4 tea bags)
  • 2 cups Milk of choice (optional)
  • Sweetener of choice (optional)
Instructions

  1. Add all the spices and water to a heavy bottomed pot. Bring to a boil on high heat, then reduce to medium to simmer for about 15 minutes, or until about 2/3 of the liquid remains.
  2. Add tea and milk and cook on low for about 5-6 minutes, covering the pot.
  3. Add sweetener if desired and serve!
  4. Pro tip: homemade chai goes best with our Milk Chocolate Vanilla-Almond Biscotti!
