French Grey salt, or Fleur de Sel, is a coarse salt harvested off the coast of Brittany, France using a centuries-old technique of evaporating sea water in shallow pans. This unprocessed salt presents with a sharp and briny saltiness characteristic of sea salt.
Red Alaean Salt is harvested in Hawaii, with its naturally-occurring reddish hue attributed to volcanic ash deposits, which provide the salt with minerals. This salt is milder in flavor with a medium coarseness.
